when i was a kid, i remember him as a very goos player, but there are two things that i really remember about him. first of all, i was watching a match, can't remeber who spurs were playing that day, and steve went to header a ball, a got akick full in the face. he just seemed to get on with it after that with a big black eye. it wasn't theatrical like todays players, it was just carry on with it regardless. the second, seems quite bizarre, but as a kid, i had to have a pair of steve perryman football boots, where the studs swivelled round in a circle.

I met Steve Perryman at my University colours evening and he was a real genuine guy who made my evening! A lot of the boys in the team were not aware of who he was but being a massive Spurs fan i could not wait to meet him. I approached him for a picture at the venue (Goodwood) and it being the eve of a North London derby asked him how he thought we'd get on. He started to answer when some (idiot) rugby players interupted and asked for a picture. I thought 'Oh well, nice to meet him' and started to walk off. As I did he grabbed my arm and told me to wait there, and that we needed to discuss the game the next day. We then proceeded to chat about all things Tottenham in great depth. He loves the club and talked with real passion about the supporters. It was an honour and a pleasure to meet him,
